We have been given a DVD by the Highway Agency showing a computer simulation of the A14 widening and we have extract the bits which show the section past Milton.
West to East
This first video takes you from the Impington junction east past Milton to Fen Ditton. It's an aerial view and in the box on the top left you can see how the road looks now.
Note that the A14 is three lanes each way at the start of the video. The outside lanes peel off at the A10 interchange and re-join the other side and it's then three lanes each way again to Fen Ditton where the outside lanes again peel off.
You can see there appears to be acoustic screening past the travellers' site on the north side of the A14 but that stops before the A10 junction and there is no sign of any sound barriers on the Milton side on the stretch from the A10 to Fen Ditton. If that's at all accurate then it will have a significant noise impact on the village and the country park as the A14 goes onto an embankment for that section in order to cross the railway line and the river.
East to West
The second video takes you the other way from Fen Ditton to the Impington junction west past Milton but this time from inside a car with the box top left showing you an aerial view of the same scene (i.e. how it will be after it's widened).
