The 9 and X9 services runs from Cambridge city centre to Ely and vice versa with some 9 services going on to Littleport and some X9 services going on to Chatteris and beyond. For practical purposes unless your destination is beyond Ely they are the same service although the X9 is rather more frequent with an hourly service in the day time.
They both run through Milton stopping at the following places through the village:

- at the junction of Landbeach Road and Humphries Way
- opposite the Waggon & Horses
- outside the New Apostolic Church/One Stop
- near Barnabas Court
- opposite Tesco
Buses run from Milton to Cambridge and back every hour during the day from Monday to Saturday and there is an evening service. It's a better choice than the Citi 2 if you're going into Cambridge city centre and can plan ahead as it goes by a more direct route so is somewhat quicker.
They go by way of Milton Road (making good use of the bus lane), Mitcham's Corner and across the river into Drummer Street.
The return journey follows the same route in reverse and continues to Ely and beyond. The last bus home is the service 9 at 23:10.
