As I understood it form the TV program the 37p was to cover the food
element of the lunch. I would imagine that the remaining ?1.18 gets
split across
staff costs
gas/electricity costs
repairs to existing equipment and buildings
capital expenditure (new equipment and buildings)
etc. etc.
So given this, it ought to be possible to double the value of the food
element within a lunch for an increase of 37p to the parent. (This
assumes that all other variable costs remain constant)
