I saw it too - don't know my Lancasters from my Wellingtons though.
Talking of noise: I went down to the level crossing to see steam loco
'Bittern' pass through at lunchtime. About half and hour late, but at least
there was a railway buff from Girton there who'd been informed by a friend
of the delay. For some reason it didn't produce the clouds of steam like
'Union of South Africa' last December (my first 'steam' in Milton).
Half had in mind watching its return this evening, but was still pottering
in the garden at about 19:40 when I heard its whistle blow, accompanied by
quite an impressive noise. I don't think I hear the normal trains pass from
here on High Street.
