You would have to ask whoever was hosting the mail archive, but I
don't think you'd have much luck:
www.mail-archive.com/faq.html#delete
If Paul could persuade the list server to add 'X-No-Archive: yes' to
all mail then it would help to stop future posts being archived so
publicly, but there's never a guarantee.
Without trying to be *too* paranoid, basically don't mail anything to
the list you would be unhappy to see on a noticeboard...
