British History Online notes[1] that Milton Hall was "Used in the 1930s to house refugee Basque children" but that's all it says of this episode and there's no footnote to back it up. I've had someone who wants to know more about this email me but there wasn't really anything I could add other than telling her that the hall was still there and who occupied it.
