Looks like we've got a dog-walker using High Street who thinks that cleaning-up is just something everyone else does... A few 'piles' in the last few days, on the south side, between the shops and Fed Road corner, including a fresh one opposite No. 25 (close to opposite Lion & Lamb) which most likely appeared this morning, Saturday 4-Sep-2010. Keep an eye out for the culprit - perhaps other dog-walkers have an idea? I would say that the evidence points to a fairly large dog :-)
