Cambridgeshire Libraries eBook Service now Free

The latest newsletter from Cambridgeshire Libraries brings news that eBooks, which had previously been charged for at a fairly reasonable 59p per book for three weeks' loan, are now free. Books are available in EPUB or PDF format so are compatible with PCs, MACs and all eBook readers except Kindle.

Close your Road for Free

If you are considering holding a street party for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee (or indeed during the Olympics) and you want to get your road formally closed for the event so that you're all nice and legal then the County are again waiving the fee (they did for last year's Royal Wedding too apparently).

Milton WI Meeting

Milton Photographic Club

The next meeting of the club will be on Wednesday (18/1) at 7:45pm in the church hall. The topic will be "Photographs you wish you had taken". Please bring along examples of images from other photographers that you like. The images can be digital or in hard copy. As usual, files can be sent to submit@miltonphotographicclub.org.uk or brought along on the evening. All welcome. Please bring £2 as a contribution for use of the hall.

Music for the season of Epiphany

This Saturday (14/1) The Wren Choir, also termed "Cambridge's Graduate Choir", are performing a concert of songs under the title "Music for the season of Epiphany" as part of the All Saints' Live programme of concerts at All Saints' church. The event starts at 7:30m. Admission is free, donations to Ekisa Orphanage in Uganda.

Another Lost Dog

On Saturday, 7th January Digger was in a car which involved in a car accident on the A10 between Ely and Waterbeach near the Lazy Otter. It was a fairly bad one although no one was hurt but when they opened the door Digger, the Tibetan Terrier, ran away. They last saw him heading down the A10 toward Milton.

Found Cat

On Friday night (6/1), a cat followed Nathalie Garbolino from Coles Road to Pearson Close. On Saturday he was still in their garden. They took him to the village vet but he is not chipped. He is a beautiful silver tabby cat, male, not neutered and without a collar. Nathalie says she can keep him in their garage and shade until you come and claim him and hopes he will find his owner.
