A14 Widening Project "Withdrawn"

In a press release today (Wednesday 20/10) the Department for Transport has announced that the A14 widening project, which would have widened the road to three lanes each way past Milton and effectively to five lanes each way further west has been "withdrawn".  read more ...

A14 Widening Project Suspended

The Government announced today (Adobe/PDF, 132KB) the cancellation or suspension of a number of major projects agreed by the previous administration. It appears that on the list of projects being suspended is the £1.1 billion project to widen the A14, including the section past Milton.

A14 Widening Public Inquiry

The Secretary of State has decided to hold a Public Local Inquiry to consider objections to the draft Order for the A14 Widening Scheme. The letter to the parish council from the Highways Agency informing the council of this can be found on their web site (Adobe/PDF, 1.2MB).

A14 Widening Group Meeting

Milton Parish Council is in the process of forming an ad hoc group to discuss the issues (e.g. noise/air pollution) concerning the A14 widening scheme. The Group will meet next Tuesday (10/11) at 7:30pm at the Bowls Pavilion.

The group consists of members of the parish council as well as interested villagers. If you want to get involved too then you are welcome to come along.  read more ...
