A History of the Parish of Milton

We mentioned here recently that we now had "The Story of Milton, or Middleton, Cambridgeshire, From Early Times" by KP Humphries on the village web site. We also have online a copy of the earlier and more heavyweight work "A History of the Parish of Milton in the County of Cambridgeshire" which was written by William Keatinge Clay B.D, who was vicar of Waterbeach, and which was completed by the Rev WG Searle after Clay's death. It was first published in 1869.  read more ...

The Milton Chronicle

Cover of The Milton ChronicleThe Cambridge Chronicle and University Journal was a weekly newspaper published in Cambridge from 1762 to 1934. Its village news was mainly supplied by a local correspondent from each village, in Milton's case usually a farmer or landowner, so these news items represent eye witness accounts of what was going on in each village.

This book, edited by Bob Tonks and published by Milton Contact, contains news items related to Milton for the period 1777 to 1901 and includes original pictures of the village as well as some maps from the time.

The book is paperback, A5 format and runs to 100 pages. To order a copy contact Bob on 861020 or
