A ten minute periodicity is the perfect bus as far as I'm concerned. I'm always struck when in Munich that I never look at bus/tram/S-Bahn/U-Bahn times - I just go to a stop when I want to and one turns up pretty quickly. An average wait of five minutes brings that same facility here at last.
