We've been thinking that for the last six months. Has anyone seen what
they've done near the Rec by the Community Centre? There appears to have
been vast quantities of tree trimming/felling etc I'd say to the detriment
of wildlife, but almost in an attempt to justify having so many Rangers,
when I'm not sure the Park couldn't manage with one part-time Ranger who
once a year gets in some specialists for a couple of days to do anything
"big or heavy" in the tree department. They seem to have more
maintenance than a municiple park with municiple-style lawns and
flowerbeds. Surely the point is that it (especially to the north of the
13th Drain) should be "wild" "countrylike"? That would certainly be best
for the ample wildlife the Park supports.
