Best declare a NIMBY interest as a Butt Lane resident but I personally think an "at grade" crossing is a very bad idea. I would argue the opposite. Connect the two acoustic barriers and provide Milton with a continuous barrier. Currently our village's acoustic barrier to the A10 has a "leak". The P&R has increased traffic and was completed with no consideration of Milton residents. To budget for an upgrade to the bridge would have been sensible (if not considerate). There was enough money to build the park and ride, there will predictably be enough money to build phase 2, so enough money to upgrade the footbridge should be factored/budgeted into phase 2. Otherwise phase 2 should not go ahead (as if!).
