Or a Sky dish with a STB and free to air card for under UKP200 including
installation and no ongoing subscription, which gives you even more
radio channels and I reckon is possibly better value unless you can
install your own aerial upgrade for Freeview.
But the answer to your "why bother" question is: if you've not got a TV
licence. We haven't so Freeview and Sky are out and DAB or the internet
are our only options for digital radio. However internet radio only
works if you've got a wireless LAN and a laptop handy and DAB radios are
notorious for eating up batteries at a ferocious rate so don't really
make sense when you're moving about.
