Yup. They're claiming that they can phase the lights at the previous
junction where the A10 joins the roundabout so that there will be gaps
in the flow during which traffic from Milton can get out. I'm sure they
can however we're back to headology again: people are going to think
"hey, if I go through Milton I miss a set of traffic lights". That's the
factor I don't think they've allowed for. So it will work very well
outside the rush hour, but I fear it will increase the length of the
queue through the village in the morning.

Actually the main point of some of the lights is safety, especially
those for the slip coming off the A14 from Histon up onto the
roundabout, but they're meant to be solving that issue as part of the
works they're about to do.
