We had some excitement in the village on Monday when a train coming south from King’s Lynn hit a tractor on an agricultural crossing just north of Fen Road. Luckily it was only a glancing blow and the train was safely brought to a halt just before the Fen Road level crossing.

Fen Road was closed for some time while the emergency services dealt with the incident. Luckily no one was hurt but a 24 year old student from the farm college was arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of endangering safety on the railway.
