Our PCSO, the third in the position since the role was introduced, has now left to train as a police officer. No replacement has been appointed yet which is unfortunate timing given we’re now into the school holidays when previously PCSOs have been vital for maintaining a police presence in the village.

At this month’s parish council meeting a report was circulated detailing the problems of litter, graffiti intimidation by groups of youth loitering in the passageway down the side of the store and it was suggested that the council might ask Tesco to consider blocking off the walk way with a new path from The Rowans. Following the success of Shakespeare in the Park at the start of the month Ocras Theatre Group are bringing Gogol’s classic comedy The Government Inspector to Milton Country Park on Saturday 2nd August at 7:30 pm. Tickets can be obtained from the Visitor Centre or The Junction on 01223 511511.

Milton’s “One Stop” store will be closed for a re-fit from Sunday 10th August until midday on Friday 22nd August.

Milton’s rather prosaically named curry and pizza takeaway is now selling a range of burgers.
