There are about 2000 residences in Milton village. We need about 50 people to distribute and collect the survey from every house. The more people involved, the easier it will be for each helper. The information will have a lot more value if it comes from most homes. Please get in touch and say you […]
Parish Council Precept 2008
At last Monday’s council meeting the council identified income for 2008/09 of £18,550 and forecast expenditure of £120,490. With this in mind they agreed to precept for £101,000 which is the exactly same as last year (and works out at about £1 a week for a band D household).
New Park and Ride Site Issues
Some villagers have written to the parish council highlighting a potential problem with the new P&R site off Butt Lane, in that one way for villagers to use it will be to drive to the end of Butt Lane in Milton, park in the street and then walk over the bridge. This has implications both […]

Problems with the Citi 2

This affects our Citi 2 service which from today will drop off and pick passengers up from a temporary stop at the front of the existing […]
Doctors’ Surgery Under Threat
For the last couple of weeks I’ve been talking to the doctors at Milton surgery about the issue of proposed changes to their contract with the Government. Essentially they’re faced with two issues. First their current funding is been cut by £15,444 per year, this is before you even consider the effects of inflation. This […]
Telephone Directories
New telephone directories should be being dumped on your doorstep around now (creating a minor crime hazard in itself, but that seems to be a battle we’ve long since lost) so the next question is what to do with the old one. The South Cambs web page on this doesn’t explicitly say so I phoned […]
Waterbeach new town back?
Readers will long memories will know that a new town at Waterbeach airfield was the alternative option to Northstowe. It lost, which was good news for Milton. Now it’s back as the developers are suggesting it as a potential site for an “eco-town” called Denny St Francis. Although development there is opposed by your local […]
