Latest Update from the Campaign to Save the Bus

The Save the Milton School Bus campaign shows no sign of slowing up. Last Wednesday, 27th May around 50 parents and children took their appeal directly to Shire Hall.

As well as handing in our comprehensive appeal document we handed in over 1500 petition signatures, 130 letters from IVC students and further letters from Milton primary school parents and students, Milton Parish Council and other supporters.

Save the Bus Campaign at Shire Hall
On the steps of Shire Hall

We are appealing the removal of the school bus on safety grounds. We feel the route is unsafe for the estimated 180 children to walk to school. Main areas of concern are the busy park and ride junction, the narrow shared use path, the unfenced ditch that runs alongside the path, the 60mph road with heavy industrial traffic, the recycling centre junction with its poor visibility and the complete lack of lighting along the route.

We can continue to submit evidence until 23rd June, so if any villagers have anything they would like to add to our campaign please contact us.

Contact the save the bus campaign via Milton bus chat or the savethemiltonbus page on facebook.

The appeal is scheduled to be heard on 30th June.
