Library consultation

You County Councillor Anna Bradnum informs us that from August 2017, the County Council is starting an informal discussion with library users and community groups on the future for libraries in Cambridgeshire through a series of workshops. The County Council statement says: “Cambridgeshire’s library service is growing and we want to hear the community’s ideas and suggestions on how to sustain, improve and develop the service libraries provide to residents and find new ways to meet library users’ changing needs and demands. We’ll use this to inform our work and define together how libraries can achieve long-term sustainability and continue to thrive.”

The County Council are using ‘Libraries Deliver: Ambition for Public Libraries in England 2016 to 2021‘, recently published by the Government, as a framework to refresh their own strategy over the coming months.

There are a number of workshops 21-25 August – you can see the details here:

Councillor Bradnum said: “Please find out what the changes will mean for you – and shape the service for the future by contributing your views to the consultation. I believe more workshops are being planned for September but the nearest workshop for us in Milton is on Friday 25th August 12:30 – 15:00 Arbury Community Centre, Campkin Road, Cambridge CB4 2LD .”
