GPs Now Able to Refer to Wild Minds Programme

From Wednesday 29th July, partner GP Surgeries are now able to refer to the Wild Minds Programme at Milton Country Park. The new referral programme has been created for teenagers with low-level mental health difficulties and has been developed over the last two years with input from South Cambridgeshire District Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, the Primary Care Network team and local GP surgeries.

The programme is dedicated to providing positive, supported experiences for young people with low-level depression and anxiety which builds their confidence and gives young people a new perspective. The free 6 week programmes are designed to give an introduction to a wide variety of outdoor activities, with a particular focus on nature, well-being, bush craft and mindfulness. Sessions are led by trained instructors and supported by a youth counsellor.

If you’re aged 14-17, feeling stressed, anxious or down and a patient at one of the following practices, please book an appointment with your GP before Wednesday 29th July and ask for further information: Milton Surgery, Firs House Cottenham, Firs House Histon, Swavesey Surgery, Cottenham Surgery, Willingham Medical Practice and Over Surgery.
