Milton Photo Archive

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Milton Photo Archive which is an attempt to bring together in one place all the photos and other images we have accumulated relating to Milton, both from photos we’ve taken and from other documents including, most recently, the Pryor Family Albums.

You can currently explore the archive in two different ways. You can either start with the map, which has a pin for every location in the village with one or more photos.

Alternatively you can select a tag from the tag cloud, as every image has one or more tags. So for example you can see all the photos we have of
Milton Hall or of the
floods in 2001 or of the erection of the
Jane Coston bridge between 2001 and 2004.

You can search for images tagged by location, we currently have some for most of the older roads in the village, especially
Fen Road, or you can view all the images, in date order, by selecting the
All tag which will show you images from 1768 until February 2013.

Often, especially with the scanned images, there’s a lot we don’t know about the photo, so every photo includes a “Tell us more about this photo” link at the bottom so you can add any details you may know.

The archive currently includes 129 images but we are hoping that it will grow significantly in the future as other people add their images to the archive, so if you have any photographs you would like to offer to the archive please get in touch.
