Changes to the Milton Surgery appointment system

In response to patient comments and requests Milton Surgery are trialling a new appointment system from 1st April, 2014. This will remove the need for you to queue outside to get an appointment for that day.

The new system allows you to book next day routine GP appointment slots online, by phone or in person from 3pm on the last working day before. This means, for example, that on a Monday afternoon you will be able to make an appointment to see a doctor between 8am and 9:30am on Tuesday morning.

If you feel that your problem cannot wait till the next day please phone the surgery and the receptionist will help you.

The routine GP afternoon appointments will continue to be available online, by phone and in person up to one month in advance. Please ask at reception about registering for the online service which also offers you the opportunity to order your repeat medications online.

If you come to the surgery on the day or queue outside in the hope of getting a morning appointment these may have gone as they will be available from 3pm the day before. However, any available appointments between 9:40am and 11am will be offered to you

The surgery will open its doors and phone lines at 8am.

The surgery welcome your feedback to the trial via their suggestion box or by emailing admin.miltonsurgery@nhs.net
